The
curious incident of the dog in the night-time is a Mark Haddon novel. He is an
English writer. The author is recognised for writing novels for children, but this book is for all publics. The novel has won different prizes, such
as, Whitbread Book Awards (2003) o Commonwealth Writers Prize (2004) for and
Best First Book.
The
story is about a 15-year-old boy, Christopher John Francis Boone. The teenager
talks in first person and tells us his day a day, how he lives, his emotions
and feelings of someone who suffers from Asperger syndrome. Christopher is very
energetic and he likes to investigate and learn more about the world around him. He is a big fan of the Sherlock Holmes novels. The author refers
to him on the title because the title is a comment that the Sherlock Holmes
said in the novel of Silver Blaze.
The
life of Christopher changes because her neighbour’s dog was murdered. The story
is entertaining and interesting, and also it has some funny parts. Once you
start reading it you can’t stop following the adventures of Christopher John
Francis Boone.
