Les macarres de Vic

September 18, 2014 photograph taken Silvia Carbó.

The picture is taken at our apartment in Vic (Barcelona), is picture of the four of us. , We were ready to go to class when we decided to do it ourselves.
We put the mobile phone in front of the TV and got the timer, so we could all be in the image.

We have already spent two weeks living together and we wanted to have a memory of those first days, so we could put it at the entrance to our little home, so whenever someone enters the apartment the first thing he sees is our picture.
In the photo you can see faces of joy, not a static image, since we raised arms, and legs.

As for the light image, of course, there’s only one light, the one coming through the windows, which make’s the picture poor, we should have turn on the light bulb behind of us so that it illuminated our faces. The shadow has no meaning and is not very justified; also we can talk about the camera quality of the phone that is not very good and that why black colours predominate over the clarity in the room.

On the other hand, if you look at the composition of the picture, there is a lot of space above our heads. The picture does not follow the rule of the three thirds, since the bottom is where the action happens; however around the couch and the top of the screenshot there is no element of interest.

If we make the image differently, it might fit better and give more light on us, highlighting our animated faces and attitudes.

We chose this picture because it is the first image we have of the four together, that represents our third year, the beginning of the course and all that is left to live in these months of cohabitation. For this reason, we can say that we really like, as it represents our friendship.
